Hello MyLot!
We don't celebrate it here, so we don't have holidays.
To all my virtual acquaintances here, happy Thanksgiving!
At work, some of the managers based in the US are having a feast.
I miss my previous employer. Every Thanksgiving, we have turkey and other good food to celebrate.
I miss being here! Will be around whenever I can.

But with my previous employer, we substitute US holiday to Philippine holiday. We still have work but the special pay will fall during the US holiday. Example Independence day, we get the premium on July 4th instead of June 12th.

As far as i know, thanksgiving day is big deal for Americans because it is a time when all family members gather together and celebrate it feastfully. It is an important occassion for the family.
It is almost the same with Christmas Day celebration here in the Philippines where we want to celebrate it with the whole family.

Many of our kababayans already adapted the culture like celebrating the Thanksgiving since they are in the US.
