Lost my slippers and pouch

I have a blue pouch that I got from a shoe repair guy many years ago. I love using it when I go somewhere and want to take my slippers with me. I was going to my in-laws' house for Thanksgiving and decided to take my slippers with me. I took the blue pouch with the slippers inside and tied it to my handbag and left the house. When hubby already drove part of the way I noticed that my bag did not have the blue pouch tied to it. I looked around in the car and did not see it anywhere. As we weren't far from home I had him drive back home so I can look for the pouch. I checked on the ground by the house and didn't see it. Then went inside the house to check and didn't see it there either. Also looked where hubby was parked waiting for me and nothing there or anywhere near that area. If it wasn't in the house it clearly fell off my handbag while I was walking to the car or getting into it, though I didn't feel or hear anything when that happened. Since it's nowhere to be found that means someone picked it up and took it. But why? I am bummed. That was a nice pouch and on top of that I no longer have those slippers. Oh why did I tie the pouch to the bag inside of putting it inside the bag? That wasn't very smart, especially since I didn't double knot it.

I am so sorry and yes someone definitely picked it up. People nowadays take absolutely anything even if they don't need it.

Good thing that the slippers were cheap ones and not some expensive brand. Still, it's a bummer someone took them. And I shake my head at that, especially since the pouch was on the road and not in anyone's driveway. I would've never taken something that wasn't mine.

I am sorry, have you checked all the way long to be sure you did not drop it?

@lovebuglena People are weird, may be someone thought there was something interesting inside and he took it. I would not know where to hang a note outside to ask around if someone found your pouch.

@LadyDuck If someone took it it could very well be they threw it in the trash. Who'd wanna wear slippers that someone else wore?

I checked by the house, and on the street next to the house where hubby waited for me in the car. And I walked further down that street and did not see it. It was not windy so clearly someone took it. Why they'd wanna keep it is puzzling to me. Who would take slippers that were already worn? And the pouch wasn't stylish or anything. Unless they just took it and put it in the trash. But it was in the middle of the road. Shouldn't have bothered anyone. Hubby suggested I write a note and hang it up outside. I don't think that will do anything. Plus, where am I going to hang it?

I am more bummed about the pouch than the slippers. But the slippers (though cheap) were not worn much and I wish I still had them.

It would be really annoying to lose the pouch and slippers. Someone must have been pretty quick to gather them up.

Yeah. We weren't gone that long. And the pouch was on the road, not in someone's driveway. I went outside today to look for it again and didn't find it.

@JudyEv I was hoping they would turn up. Wishful thinking on my part.

That I can replace. The pouch not sure where I'd buy one like that. This one was from a shoe repair place. But I am shocked that someone took it. We were gone probably 15 minutes or so (if not less) before we turned around and drove back home. That's such a short time. I did not expect for someone to take this pouch, especially in such a short time.
