Where To Run?

Have you given any thought to what you would do in the face of a global disaster or Apocalypse? Where would you run ? Where could you hide? Some have given it much thought - so much that a number of entrepreneurs are remodeling old army bunkers where one can live comfortably for up to five years at least. Of course renting or buying one of those would cost a pretty penny, so people are looking for other ways to secure themselves and families. Are you concerned ? Do you have a plan? You can read all about bunker and other plans in the following link.
For some, the current crisis is a dummy run for long-term lockdown. Across the world, luxury bunkers are being built for a lucky few to survive calamity and collapse.

Unfortunately there would be no escape here. I would accept it.

I see it is like apocalypse when a super typhoon hit our country every year. We do prepare for major disasters as much as possible

I have often thought about it since my childhood . I have concluded that living where I do, I'd have to live like a nomad if the world was collapsing . . . moving from place to place depending on the situation.

@Kandae11 I am not sure if one would have a better chance in the city or the country .

Surviving or not would depend hugely on where one lives.

That is good, especially if they are stocked with supplies to last for years.

We don't have that kind of preparation. We just prepare for our basic needs in case of emergency and we have a government which is prepared and ready to rescue us in case of calamities and we have an evacuation center ready.

I think there is nowhere to hide here even if we are underground something really big is going to happen.

I haven't really given it much thought. I just hope the day never comes when we're all put in a position to have to decide what to do.

@Kandae11 Covid really made me aware how much we take for granted and how difficult life was when we were all in lock-down

The only place I know is rural places. And wait for instructions on what to do with emergency supplies in tact. Also, pray to God.

I would hate being in a city at the time of a disaster. A rural area would be best.

We still have space in our city but I think it will get filled soon. I haven't heard about the bunker builders.

Heavily populated cities would not do well. Country areas would be safer.

That is the best most will be able to do - stay put. However awareness is important and with it will come workable ideas.

In a compact city like Hong Kong, I really cannot think of any place I can go in case of global disaster. Most of the people live in apartments. But for the super rich, they have a big house and they can build a fully equipped basement where they can hide for quite sometime.

I agree, the rich could afford certain preparations - it would be difficult in heavily populated large cities.
