She Just Couldn't Get it Right

My mom mixes up words. It's a thing with her, and something my sister and I have seen fit to have quite a lot of fun with over the years—at her expense of course. But it is also one of the endearing things about her as well I suppose.
Take the recent diagnosis of Bell's Palsy by my brother-in-law. The left side of his face is paralyzed, which presents fodder for jokes of their own.
Nonetheless. It is not a serious condition and is supposedly temporary in the majority of cases.
My mother called and asked what it was that he had and I told her. Bell's Palsy, to which she responded back with Ball's Palsy.
"No mom. Not Ball's Palsy. Bell's Palsy."
She repeated Ball's several times before I shouted into the phone at her, "No. Not Ball's, Bell's, like a BELL, ding-ding-ding! There's nothing wrong with his balls!
She still didn't get it.

And what makes you so sure there's nothing wrong with his balls, Porwest? Are you trying to hint about something to us?

I cherish every day my parents are still alive, although I do admit to taking that for granted and not calling as often as I should. We do spend a lot of time with Mom though, grocery shopping on the weekends and such.
Too funny about the Bin Weezle thing. lol

That reminds me of when my daughter was little, she would say "Taco Bill" instead of Taco Bell. I tried repeatedly to correct her on the right way to say the name, but she insisted on calling it Taco Bill. To this day I still tease her about it.
