Bruce Springsteen and Howard Stern

While watching the interview that Stern and Springsteen had, Bruce had said something odd and I'm one nosy person! I had to find out what Bruce meant. He went to sit at the piano and Stern had said something, and Bruce talking about his wife said something to the point of, "....and you, my friend, are going to have to do a lot of ass kissing because she's a Cicilian and she doesn't forget anything." My first thought was Stern must have pissed Patti off. And as I got to reading through several articles, it seems Stern must have told Patti that he doesn't like her singing voice and that she is tone deaf. Ouch, not the nicest thing to say to someone that you are contemplating interviewing.

Stern always has been a bit overly obnoxious and prone to make odd remarks. He's not as bad as some other interviewers however.

I like him, because he's pretty funny and he does ask what we want to know

He may have been making a joke. Sicilians are stereotypically mobsters, and he did reference the mob in “Atlantic City” (“they blew up the Chicken Man in Philly last night”…a true story!).

@NanaMc — Philip “Chicken Man” Testa, he was the head of the Philly mob for about a year, until they blew him up “and they blew up his house too.” And Stern is rude to everyone.

@FourWalls Ahhh, cool bit of knowledge. I know the song well but I didn't know about the story. And you're so right, Stern is rude, but he's also funny!

They did a great job on the interview. If you're able to rewatch it, it's just as he goes to sit down at the piano. It's 45 minutes to an hour into it, if I remember correctly.

I have never liked Howard Stern, and as a Southeastern Pennsylvania with New Jersey roots, I am not ashamed to say Bruce Springsteen is overrated.

Stern doesn't have a filter, that's for sure.

It was pretty good. Springsteen seems very down to earth but seems like he's uncomfortable doing interviews but he's promoting his new album and his new concerts coming up, so he's doing what it takes to bring in the money.

@NanaMc Many are uncomfortable with interviews. I will check it out when I get a minute. Not a big Howard Stern fan though.

I think that's a very unkind thing to say. Surely he could have put his thoughts a bit more kindly.
