Christmas came early. Thinking about presents. Plan B.

I was wondering whether I would reach the minimum this month when I noticed that the exact amount of money that I have earned this month was on the screen.
What? I asked myself. And then I noticed that the green $ at each side of the word mylot was there. We had been paid our November earnings today.
Nice! I am thinking about a plan B for presents to my family. The apricot tree gave a very small amount of apricots because of the drought ( and because I did not water it myself). I made a big pot of apricot jam and that was all. There is still a branch of unripe apricots in the tree and I will forbid Anita to touch them. Yesterday she gathered unripe apricots that should have been left in the tree for a while. Of course, she did NOT ask whether I wanted it done or not.
Carolina, who came for dinner yesterday, can take almost all she wants from my house. and I bought an awesome stuffed elf for Sofía besides her money.
I have already told Diego that the trip to Aruba should be taken as a gift from me for the rest of his life
. Still, after Aruba, I gave a birthday party for him.
But I have nothing for Dixie. And there are only 15 days for Christmas (14 for Christmas Eve). This year has gone by without my noticing.
Are you prepared for Christmas?

In fact I don´t buy Chritmas presents for the older people. I buy them something when I know that it is something they like, no matter the day of the year. Last year I bought a wonderful wok for Dixie because her wok was past its prime and I stayed at her house for a month. We jwere shopping for something else and I remembered.

@LadyDuck I have a bottle of Jack Daniels in my closet, only for Humberto and for me. I have other drinks for the rest of my friends and for Tania (she likes liquor) but JD is special and not to be given to someone who does not appreciate it

All my gifts are small. But I like them to be special.

@marguicha The gift should be something the person will like. That’s my standard.

@RubyHawk I agree. And I think that Christmas is about love and presents are mainly for children.

@celticeagle I thought I was saving the Earth water but it was just dumb. Now that I´m watering it again. the few apricots are flourishing.

IT was my fault that the apricot did not have enough water to have much apricots.

I've bought scarfs for my close friends. A hand lotion for my brother's maid who sometimes helps me out on household chores. As for my nephew's kids, I plan to give them gift vouchers of "Toy"R"Us.

@Beestring I first learned about it when I went with my husband to the US. We don´t have it here. We already had grandchildren. We spent a whole morning looking for presents for them and feeling that we were children again

I am well and truly prepared for Christmas. OK, I will admit it, I don't actually do any Christmas shopping - my personal shopper takes care of that mainly because she doesn't trust me to pick the appropriate present for people! And it's even better than that: she picks her own presents (trust issues again!
) and hands them to me to wrap for her! It's an easy life if you go about it the right way!

I always had to change the size of the clothes that my husband bought for me as a surprise. I think that he thought I was tiny

@marguicha If he thought you were a size down from what you are that is a compliment!

True: I have not even thought about a present for my grandson in Spain.

@JudyEv I know. And I can´t send them money as I only have enough for a little something for each.

@marguicha It is sometimes hard to buy presents for those who are overseas.

We had very little to do for Christmas. We only had two gift cards to buy -- one for my husband's cousin who cleans for us and one for the lady across the street who brings back the dumpster for us every week. I can't cook or bake; so no cookies or special meals are being made. We put out our tiny tree and a wreath on the door. We are done.
