Kerry Smith who is a resident of Fort Worth Texas received a phone call from employees at the Orange County Florida Animal Services that his long lost dog who is female named Jazzy who ran away from her owner during the Fourth Of July celebrations since dogs cannot stand loud noises like fireworks or the sound of thunder in which I have noticed first hand when my former dogs were alive.
What I know about what happened about Jazzy was that a concerned person saw an abandoned dog inside of a hotel room in the Orlando area without food and water which had Jazzy near death.
When the animal control officers who found Jazzy in the hotel room took her to get her checked out for any illnesses she had on her, they found that Jazzy had a microchip planted in her coat.
When Kerry received the good news from the animal control officers in Orange County, he was so happy when he got the good news shortly after he received the good news that he was going to reunite with Jazzy that he took an airplane ride to Orlando to reunite with his dog.
The exact dates when Jazzy was found and the date when the animal control officials contact Kerry were not released in the story.

The dog probably went to live with another family who adopted him and probably took her to Florida.

@RubyHawk A dog cannot travel from Texas to Florida on their own.

@Deepizzaguy Must have. He couldn’t have traveled that far by himself.

Maybe the dogs who get that name have owners who like New Orleans or have connections to the reputation for their love of jazz music.

Poor Jazzy. How sad to lose 7 years with your dog. I would be heartbroken. I'm glad they were reunited.

I know how the loss of a pet for a long period of time does cause heartbreak. I am also happy that Kerry is reunited with his dog Jazzy once again.

I'm glad Jazzy was found in time and got the help she needed. I love happy endings, just wish that the poor dog could have gone home sooner. A good lesson here--if you ever find a dog or a cat, take it to your animal control, Humane Society, or run it by a veterinary office. I know here where I live, none of those places charge anything to run their scanner thingy over your pet to check for a chip.

That is a good idea to microchip an animal even though I do not know that the service is free at the animal shelters in my area.

@Deepizzaguy
Generally a shelter will not charge to check for a chip, at least not the shelters I encounter in rescue work.

The dog owner should have known that dogs can´t stand fireworks. Nor can many people.

Dogs like humans can be scared of thunder and fireworks. Including me.
