Our son lives in Collingwood, an inner suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It was once one of the less affluent suburbs but, being so close to the city centre, it is now quite a trendy place to live and is gaining a name for the ‘street art’ which now covers many of the once-bare walls of buildings.
The art in the photo is just around the corner from our son’s house. I don’t know that the people are individuals but I guess they represent the multi-cultural nature of the area. We were really impressed with these.

@JudyEv if it has been done too quickly, it is still beautiful painted.

@Fleura Many indigenous are doing really well and doing their best to help their fellow people. The indigenous are over-represented in our gaols but if they're doing the crime, what can you do about it? It's a real problem. Once, money was given to them or housing built etc and it all went to waste, but there is now much more consultation with the groups themselves which is helping.

It's impressive that they used the entire building as their canvas to display their artistic talent. It was neatly finished and appealing to the eye. Additionally, the message it sends is powerful and demonstrates how multicultural your area is.

That's a very impressive mural. It must have taken a long time and certainly a lot of talent.

The taxi driver was born in Melbourne and has been there ever since. He has no desire to move and loves his city.
