Birthday weekend

My birthday was December 24th and hubby and I went to Atlantic City to celebrate. We went there for the weekend. Left Friday evening and came home Sunday evening. Since we left after hubby came home from work we did not have time to have dinner. By the time we got to the hotel restaurants were already closed but we managed to find a fast food place that was open and ordered a hot dog each and then cherry pastry to share. Saturday we had breakfast at this restaurant that had many plants, some that were like palm trees. it was a cool experience sitting under a palm tree sipping freshly squeezed grapefruit juice while it was very cold and windy outside. Hubby and I shared a cinnamon swirl French toast and huevos rancheros. I don't think I've ever had huevos rancheros before but they were really good. The French toast was delicious. For my birthday dinner we went to Old Homestead Steakhouse. They have that in Manhattan as well, which we've been to. We had beef carpaccio, roasted five onion soup, A5 Japanese steak with roasted Cipollini onions and creamed spinach on the side. We had cheesecake with berry compote for dessert. And shared a bottle of Pinot Noir wine. The hotel was not on the boardwalk and there was nothing around the place so we didn't really leave the hotel. We just played the slots. I did not come out a winner in the end but I had a lot of time playing the slot machines. Some are very fun and addictive so you want to keep playing and playing. And because of that whatever you win you end up losing. Sunday after a late breakfast we checked our casino cards to see if we had any free play money on them. Turned out that we did and so we used that to play some more. And before we left we checked our cards again and turned out we had accumulated more free play money. We did not use them though. I hope they will still be in the account if we return to the hotel next time.
