Something started to itch in my back while I was in the shower.

I scratched it and felt that it was a huge wheal. I got out and tried to see it but I couldn´t. I will have to wait until my friends arrive so that they can see what it is.
Meanwhile I discarded skin cancer and other mayor problems. It must confess that after I had a lymphoma and several skin cancers, I am quite afraid that one of them might prove to be more aggresive.
But the wheal is giant to the touch, at least the size of a quarter. I put on a corticoid cream meanwhile and the itching is less. But something has to be done. I am thinking about a spider, a bug that comes around in this part of the year. And I ruled out the brown recluse (we have it here) because I would feel badly.
I hope Dixie and Humberto tell me what to do and it helps. I´m sure that a spider is the only bug that could have done that. Today I turned my bed and there was a tiny spider between my sheets. I killed it savagely but it wasn´t the brown recluse.
Is there anyone here who doesn´t HATE spiders?

I hope you're only having an allergic reaction to something. I am scared of being bitten by a spider. The cream should have made it stop itching completely, though, if it was an allergic reaction to something... I hope Dixie gets to your house soon.

The itching stopped but there is a gross wheal. Dixie will come at around 6 to take me to the mountains.

@DaddyEvil It is very big so I think that I´ll have it for days. It is bigger than a quarter.

@marguicha Sometimes it takes time for welts to go down after using corticoid creams. I hope it disappears before Dixie gets there. I'm glad the itching stopped.

I would not be writing here if it had been that spider.

@LadyDuck I hate all animals inside my house. Even Luna hardly places a paw inside. And I have a special rug for her that I wash often.

I´m sure the bug that bit me was poisonous but not as a brown recluse.

@much2say I know. I remembered later that I have antihistaminic pills so I took one.

@marguicha Probably so since the bite made you itch like that.

It's probably a spider bite. I hate spiders; but I hate ants worse.

I have not had ants inside my house for many years. Once in a while, I kill one inside with a finger and that is all.

@LindaOHio I´m so sorry. Years ago, in another house, I had ants every summer.

@marguicha our spiders are harmless. They never bite. I said that for I have never bitten so far.

Me too. I am specially scared of the brown recluse as we have it here. But I know today that a spider bit me but it wasn´t as spoisinous. Still I am worried.

@marguicha Is there a wound? Do you need to put on some antibiotic cream?

I used to get bit by spiders at night a lot when I lived a my mothers house growing up. I believe they were called the common house spider. We never had them here until my husband remodeled the bathroom. I think they must have been in the walls and when the walls were torn out came out and bred.

This spider that bit me is not deadly, but still, the wheal is the size of a quarter.

I don't mind many spiders. But if they don't stay where they belong they have to go

Humberto said I was not to worry as it was better. But I am with a corticoid unguent and an antihistaminic.
