Do you ever wish people would be better about communicating?

I received an email this morning from my friend and band mate Michael, asking if I (and two other band mates) could make it to a jam this afternoon.
I responded in the affirmative and set the time aside.
1 PM to 5 PM or so..
It's now 1:15 PM and I haven't heard anything from anybody.
I called Michael an hour ago and got his voice mail.
So now I'm cooking up some lunch and wondering what my Plan B will be.
.
Do you ever have communication problems with your friends or family?

Not as much, but then the only person I really talk to is my husband. I also make sure I have a plan b planned if I do make plans, because I know how important it is to be flexible.

@kaylachan I have earned some relaxation time. Sometimes I forget.

I saw that you’re having some flash flooding issues out there. Think they decided to stay home and dry…and just forgot to tell you?

@TheHorse — might that have been caused by a dog’s water bowl?

The email didn't say where you were supposed to be? If that happened to me, I'd be at Michael's house at 1 pm. At 1:15 pm, I'd head back to my house and not worry about it.
My sister started texting me yesterday morning asking why Pretty and I hadn't shown up for a party. Since I haven't heard about a party, I told her we weren't invited. (We don't normally go to family get-togethers anyway. There aren't a lot of my family I'm interested in seeing. *shrug*) Sue texted back asking if my brother Steve had invited me to the party... I sent back; If you're having a party, why would someone else invite me to it? That apparently struck a nerve... Sue sent back a text in all caps that said "Aren't you my brother anymore?" I quit responding...
Why do some people have to be so difficult? Sue usually isn't that bad... but I didn't feel like listening/reading her drama. I read the text conversation to Pretty, who promptly laughed and asked if I thought Sue would start issuing her own invitations from then on... (I seriously doubt it but you never can tell with Sue.)
I hope you found something interesting or relaxing to do today, pony.

@TheHorse I don't know that Steve did "drop the ball". If Sue invited me to her house, I wouldn't invite other people... Why would Steve?

@DaddyEvil I'm confused. Either Steve did invite you, as instructed, or he did not. It sounds like he dropped the ball, causing you to miss the soiree. That sucks.

@aninditasen But I hear, "I checked my texts, but didn't check my phone" all the time.

@TheHorse Too many means of communication has made it easier to communicate. It's the attitude of two persons that hinders comfortable communication.

Maybe they're already jamming and wondering why you haven't shown up.

Well, that's frustrating. Do you think they're all at the jamming location, wondering when you're going to show?

@TheHorse It's too bad that he didn't send a follow-up text letting you know.

My husband's family, except for cousins, have all passed; and we only have a handful of friends between us. I hope you heard from Michael.

Sometimes I think I'm being really clear and direct, and I find out from people's responses that I wasn't. But often people just don't use enough words to be really clear. They think you know what they're thinking and you don't.

I organized a bicycle tour many years ago and our support vehicle never showed up. We were able to ride without it but no one ever explained to me why it didn't show. It was frustrating and I was a little bit cross with everyone involved.

Sometimes if I am the one who sets the time. Nobody seems to reply.
