Not my picture, but we are having this tonight with our braised pork and buttered peas. A deviled egg potato salad. I tasted it before I started to cool it and I already know it will be really good. I used Rotini noodles for mine, 6 hard-boiled eggs which I separated the yolks from the whites. Diced the whites and tossed them into the bowl with some onion. Mashed up my yolks and added (start puking @NJChicaa) Miracle Whip, some apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, mustard, salt and pepper. Tossed in the noodles and then added the wet mixture and sprinkled in some paprika. This is going to be good eats.

@RubyHawk Deviled eggs are dangerous for me. I just love them. I am bit surprised you would eat them considering you don't eat meat, which I suspect is because of the treatment of and killing of animals for human consumption—and yet conditions laying hens are subject to are quite confined and miserable in most cases. I guess I bring it up because it is an interesting revelation that you would eat eggs.

It turned out well. I will definitely do it again. Might add a little something to it just to give a bit more punch next time. But it was good.

Miracle Whip? Wouldn't that make it sweet?

@porwest I like mayo. My favorite salad dressing is a mayo-based blue cheese.

No. Not at all. Tangy? Yeah. But sweet? No. Not really. I have never found Miracle Whip to necessarily be sweet. I just cannot stand real mayo. To me it is bland.

Miracle Whip is disgusting. What did the eggs ever do to you?

The eggs went into a better mayo and made me actually want to eat anything remotely mayo. lol From my perspective, real mayo is disgusting. I never liked it, and anything it is put in tends to be very bland and not worth eating.

Except for the onion and garlic, this sounds good. Very creative.

@porwest How close did it taste to the Walmart variety? It probably was very different.

@LindaOHio Well, at Walmart I get deviled egg potato salad, not deviled egg pasta salad, so this was quite different.

Do you mean, except for anything that gives it pizzazz and flavor?

I know some several ways to cook an egg. But I am not familiar with the deviled egg. What is it?

Essentially, and there are some variations, but you basically hard boil eggs, peel them and slice them in half. Then you scoop out the hardened yolks and save the white parts as little "bowls." You mix the yolks with mayo, salt and pepper, and Dijon mustard, then scoop the mixture into the eggs whites and usually sprinkle on some paprika. Voila! Deviled eggs.

That sounds delicious! I've never used apple cider vinegar, I'll need to try it. I have it on hand.

I use it for a few things. It adds a little pizzazz. Of course I also use Balsamic and other vinegars, but it is good stuff.

I thought all deviled eggs used paprika sprinkled on top. In fact, I have never seen a deviled egg without it actually.
