My first blooper of the year

I went to town for the baby’s wic appointment. Afterwards I stopped at the drug store to pick up some refills and then got two groceries I needed from the grocery store. I walked to the bank in the same plaza to cash a check. I had to strap the baby back in her car seat (which was attached to the stroller where she was sitting) so I set my groceries in the chair by the door. I told the baby she looked tired and maybe while she naps mama can bake a pie. Got her in the car and before I even got the stroller put away she fell asleep. I was home an hour before I realized and could remember where the groceries were. I called the bank to make sure they were still there and luckily they were so I drove back to town and got them. I’m so thankful it’s only a two mile round trip. Photo is the groceries.

@shaggin No one else at home to watch the baby while you went back for the groceries?

@BarBaraPrz nope daughter and husband were at work and my son and stepson were at school. My parents across the street have Covid so I couldn’t ask them which I so rarely ever ask them anyway. I think once when she was very very small I had them watch her a few minutes while I ran something to the school for my son or daughter.

@Fourwalls me too but at first I kind of hoped they were gone so I wouldn’t have to take the baby back out in the rain . If they were gone I would have just said true heck with them.

@CarolDm thankfully it’s a pretty small town so things don’t usually go missing if left behind this way.

I could imagine how you reacted for a missing groceries. It's good you got a car and it's easy for you to pick up from where you had left them.

@shaggin If it did happen to us, somebody would pick them up and they couldn't be retrieved anymore for only a handful of people who are honest here.

@shaggin Right! And good to know there are honest folks . . . here, I wouldn't be surprised if someone actually took it, sad to say.

@Tina30219 I thought with having called and them saying yes there were still in the chair that they may put them behind the counter to keep them safe but they didn’t. They were exactly where I left them in the chair near the automatic door.
