Came across a story on youtube that mentioned how a parrot helped solve a murder. Apparently the parrot kept repeating the last words of the victim which was 'Shut up' and "Dont shoot" and this helped solve the murder mystery after more than a year.
The victims wife had survived the murder attempt with just a gunshot near her ear but her husband died. She told the police that someone came from behind and shot both of them. But the parrot proved that there was an argument before the husband was killed.
I dont know much about parrots but I think even the best of these so-called copycat parrots, like African greys and many other parrot species, are not a living tape recorder that faithfully repeats whatever has been spoken in their presence,
especially if it was only mentioned once. This is due to the fact that similar to young children, parrots need plenty of repetition before they can correctly pronounce a phrase. In this case the wife confessed to her crime. But is is possible for a parrot to repeat something that he heard just once? Whats your views on this?
