Whats for lunch? January 9th,2023

We had some errands to run earlier and decided that we would take the risk and stop at McDonald's for lunch. Now we usually don't go to McDonald's and we really really don't go to the one in town unless the kids want it. The one in town has crappy service so we try to avoid it.
Well we were dissatisfied with it today. It would of made more sense to drive the thirty minutes to Crestview and pay the same to eat at Wendy's and get a good meal than to waste the money that we did at McDonald's today.
We each got a mcdouble and split fries and a drink. The burgers were disgusting. They tasted like wet paper towels. The fries were hot but they could of used some salt and the tea was so sweet I think I might have diabetes now.
But you live and learn. Probably won't be going back to McDonald's for a long long time.
What did you have for lunch today? Were you pleased or were you disappointed like we were?

I made myself a small salad for lunch yesterday. Today, we might eat out in town as we expect the power to be off here.

@thislittlepennyearns Maintenance on the lines apparently but it didn't happen and now we've decided we can get buy without shopping so it will be another salad for lunch. I might boil a couple of eggs to go with it.

@thislittlepennyearns I might get Subway in a few weeks when we go to the mall.
I don't hate McDonald's perse, but they're not my favorite.

We had subway for dinner lol.
I really would rather have just about any fast food than McDonald's but it was cheap

@tammys85 I would usually rather go to Firehouse, but I didn't want to drive that far. Does your mall still have most of its stores? All of the malls near us, except for the one about an hour away have more or less become mostly deserted.

@thislittlepennyearns If I remember right it was chicken noodle. Recieved a lot of that when I was sick.

@xstitcher You should look into the Progresso chicken and barley next time youre sick. Barley is good for your immune system

Fried rice with diced tomatoes and some spinach and soy sauce with chicken nuggets, I have not been to any fast food places in a long time but I do remember when I went to university the closest and fastest place to eat was a McDonald's and then one lovely day I got food poisoning,

I have gotten food poisoning at many places but I don't think I have at McDonald's.

Years ago we found a big piece of wood in our McDonalds burger. We're not fans now. Lunch. I'm home so have to think about it cause I am hungry. I had peanut butter on bread for breakfast. Maybe I'll fry an egg. And quit staring at my remaining Hersheys bar.

It wasn't very filling either. But it was what it was and we'll survive wasting that money. But we were trying to eat cheap and anywhere else would of been at least twice that.
