Frugal Shopping: Thrift Store Haul January 10th, 2023

One of the stores we stopped at today was the thrift store. We have gotten in the habit of going every other week if not once a week. I have been picking up jeans for she child whenever possible. She is growing so fast that it seems like by the time she wears her jeans one time she has outgrown them. So it seems a waste to go pay full price for them until her growing slows down. I found her a really nice pair of size ten old navy pants. They are so cute. I can't wait to see them on her tomorrow. This thrift store doesn't have things priced per item unless they are doing sales so I never really know what I am paying per item, but for everything listed and pictured we paid $8.76. For that money we got the pair of jeans, two nightgowns for she child, two short sleeved shirts for me, Jay and silent Bob on DVD, land of the lost of DVD, gridiron gang on DVD, talladega nights on DVD and jawbreaker on DVD. I have been looking for jawbreaker on DVD for years. I loved that movie when I was in high school. And I could never find it for under fifteen bucks, so I was so happy when I found it today. So @moffittjc you got anything to say about all these movies I've been buying lol. I haven't seen any comments from you in weeks.

You did really well there. Everything in our thrift stores is priced separately so you know what you're up for.

we have stores like goodwill. And they are ridiculous, but this one gives back to the community and is local

One person's castoffs are another's treasure... Good for you!

I don't think of them as cast offs neccearily.

@thislittlepennyearns Just a lighthearted joke. No offense intended. I like thrift stores and flea markets myself..

Seems like you did make a good haul. It seems odd they don't display individual prices. What, do they just charge you by the pound or something? If we go to thrift stores, which we do all the time, it is usually Goodwill or Savers, but they always have things individually priced. As for me, I buy mostly clothes there, but I do often peruse what I call the "junk aisles."

I don't know. They don't tag each item. There's probably signs on the walls, but I don't pay attention. I get a friends and family discount because I make shirts for some of the employees.
