2023 Health Journey - Day 17

Hey everyone, how are you all doing?
Another day has come to an end...
So I wanted to share about my food and numbers before I go to bed.
Weigh in - went down about 2 pounds, but it is about where I started the month at.
Blood sugars -
Fasting - 65
Meal 1 - 96 (it did go up to 130 4 hours after the meal)
Meal 2 - 96
Meal 3/snack - 114
So, I am not happy about the 114 that I saw after meal 3, but I also didn't wait the full 2 hours to check.
What did I eat?
Meal 1 - Ham, cheese and egg croissant sandwich (with the bread)
10-ish fries.
Meal 2 - 1/4 pound beef frank
with S.F. ketchup
Meal 3 - cheese stick, 2 servings deli chicken
Snack - 2 servings sugar free chocolate chips
Macros for the day:
Calories - 1,252
Protein - 59
Fat - 74
Total Carbs -65
Net carbs - 55
I know I had too many carbs and not enough protein. Just wasn't hungry for the right foods today. And overall, the carbs didn't affect me too badly. If I only spiked to 130 then that is not horrible. I stayed pretty level the rest of the day.
Just hope not to drop too low during the night.
We'll see what the scale says in the morning. What do you think?

@MommyOfEli2013 I had ham and grilled vegetables for lunch, zero carbs.

@LadyDuck veggies still have some carbs... but a smaller amount than most foods...

I did not avoid carbs today, took a break from diet.

I can have dairy products, but if I eat too many of them in one day I am just sick. I love cheese, but I have to be strict with myself on limits on it. Once in a great while I splurge and have a grilled Swiss cheese as a treat, so good.
You are on your way with your journey and you're trying, good job.

I don't know if I should have dairy, I know they don't make me sick...but not sure if they affect my weight. Grilled swiss cheese? never tried that...
and yeah, but today I had carbs all day.

@MarieCoyle Oh really? I am not a fan of rye lol. I only really like white bread.
I don't drink milk much either. I do use heavy cream in my coffee. I use lots of butter. If I have eggs, they are cooked in butter.

I love grilled Swiss cheese sandwiches, usually on rye. That is my favorite kind of bread.
Not a milk drinker at all, I do occasionally use it for cooking, but that's it. I do use butter, but try not to do that in excess, of course.
I got some homemade cookies for my birthday. I ate two of them. I never do that. So, I put them in the freezer and plan on keeping them there and just take out one at a time--I've done that before. If I leave them sitting out, I know I will eat them!

I don“t usually eat snacks and from what you wrote, snacks were thr part with more carbs. Sometimes I make carrot sticks forsnacks or munch a piece of bread. Fortunatly I am not into cookies and the like.

Yes, and then after I get started I take a day off and have carbs. Just was not in the mood at all to cook meals today

I think your sugar numbers look good. Carbs are a bit high.

Well they were higher today. Wasn't in the mood at all to cook so had quick and easy meals.

Had a carb day today, hopefully will be back on plan tomorrow. Just wasn't in the mood to cook, so sometimes I need a break....
