I'm so sad..........

Boobear was much happier when I took this shot, I took it before 2017 when I brought mom's cats home with me.

Today I had to bring Tuffy in for him to be neutered. I was to be there at 8:30am. As usual I put Roscoe into the spare room and told him I loved him and would be back. Then I went to say the same to Boobear. She didn't move to greet me so I whistled to her as I have done so very often but again she didn't move. So I went to pet her and discovered she had passed. It was 8am so I didn't have much time to process her passing but when I got home it hit me. She's gone.

She was 16 and 1\2 years old, I suppose that old all things considered but I was hoping she would manage to live longer. The only relief to me is that I did not have to bring her in to be euthanized but still it hurts. I hope her spirit will find Ally her best friend.

I know that there is a silver lining to the dark cloud of your loss, but right now, you need to recognize that loss and grieve it. Hugs for you.

Omg! I’m so so sorry to hear this! My heart is breaking for you. My hope is that she didn’t suffer and passed in her sleep. Poor sweet baby girl. I am sure she will find Ally and become best friends with Doodles and Kuma. PM or call me if you need to cry and talk.

You're right, she wanted me to know she was gone. I thought she was very healthy for a 16 yr old, it was probably just her age.

Oh my I am so sorry to read this it is so hard when our pets die. 16 is a long life I am glad you had so many years with her but wish you could have had more. Her going in her sleep like that is how you want them to go .. peacefully not lingering in pain for days or anything before having to sign the papers to have them put down. I’m glad you didn’t have to go through that it’s hard to drive home while crying. Your two pets left will bring you comfort while you’re upset I’m sure I know how they sensed when you were sick and stayed right by your side.

No, when I picked her up to give her a good night hug the night before she seemed ok and even purred but as you said 16.5 years is a pretty long life for a feline.

Your charge was not prepared for the responsibility she undertook, I feel sorry for those kitties as it would seem she will try to get you to take care of them and perhaps you are unable to do so.
