26 January - What I'm Thankful for Today

I got up early again when I didn't expect to get up as early as I did. 2 AM again. I'm not complaining. That's normal for me. I just didn't expect to get up that early. I've been getting more sleep than usual, so getting only five hours, my usual was different. I'm thankful for waking early because I got my Bible study done earlier than usual. I also played my games and then plugged in here before I needed to leave. I'm thankful for getting to my doctor's appointment this morning. The roads were slippery and treacherous in the dark as my appointment was before daylight. 7 AM. I'm also thankful I got home. Daylight, but the roads were slippery and I did slide a little on the way there. I kept my speed low. So was everyone else. For which I'm thankful. I didn't feel like I was being pushed to greater speeds. I'm thankful for the appointment itself. The doctor was a huge surprise. I expected someone a lot older and more set in his ways. This guy was young and has a good sense of humor. When I told him I don't do needles, he even put it in the record so others would know. I even told him I think my primary is stupid. I expected some pushback, but he listened, understood, and even laughed and agreed that doctors can be stupid. What a change from the regular serious doctor without a sense of humor and is all business. I'm glad I know what's wrong, though it is a surprise. I never expected I fractured my back when I built that snowman. He seriously joked that I wouldn't be making any more snowmen. I've got that covered. A friend will be coming with her son to build me a nice snowman the next time we get a good snowfall. He also told me I have scoliosis on my spine. It's not bad but contributed to the compression fractures. He also set me up with an MRI and an Endocrinologist because I have severe osteoporosis. So now I dig out my back brace and start wearing it. Though he said I don't need to wear it all the time, but he recommends wearing it. I'm thankful for getting all my steps done today. I'm on my way to 6000 steps. I'll probably have that before I go to bed tonight. I'm thankful for a good friend here who invited me to her church. I'm currently without a church after a problem occurred a couple of days ago. It's so sad what happened, but when the pastor is in error with what he's teaching, it's time to leave. Okay, that's my day. Time for me to dig out the back brace. I think I know where it is. What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.
