Today is the day for Chocolate Cake lovers

Is that your local bakery, do you buy all your cakes there or just the chocolate ones?

@lazydaizee Yes, that's the one I make. There is a similar one that is lemon self-saucing but it's a bit more finicky. You have to separate the eggs and beat the whites, etc. so not quite so simple.

@JudyEv I have also tried one with a ginger sauce where you use brown sugar to make the cake mixture and then sprinkle demerara sugar and ground ginger powder on top and add boiling water as you would with the chocolate self saucing pudding.

I make a self saucing chocolate pudding using a recipe where you have to sprinkle drinking chocolate and sugar on top of the unbaked cake mixture, pour boiling water all over it then bake in the oven. It comes out really nice because the chocolate cake is nice and light and the sauce has gone through the cake mixture to the bottom of the dish.

Yes this would have been a lot earlier than 200 years ago as the website I visited stated. Perhaps they meant that this was when it became used in our society .Maybe it was about the same time that America was discovered .

@LadyDuck This is true, it was a long time before 200 years ago. I probably learned this at school, but like most things that I learned at school, I have forgotten it now.

I enjoy finding out what day it is each day. Some of the things are really funny.

How do you make no bake cookies? I am trying to save money on my electric bill and I do not do as much baking as I used to. So a no bake recipe would come in very handy.

I like chocolate cakes biscuits, cereals, chocolate bars especially when they are made by Cadbury.
