I have everything ready at home. I only have a skillet left that is still soaking in the sink. I have been doing my chores while I sip what the cousins in charge of the celebration for my aunt gave us. My aunt makes a delicious sort of eggnog. Only she doesn´t just make it for Christmas but has it all year. Many times I have thought about asking for the recipe but then I forget. One of my cousins in charge asked her for the recipe without telling her anything, bought a small bottle for each of the guests and printed a label saying that it was my aunt´s recipe. Then they made enough of that eggnog (cola de mono) and filled the small bottles with the printed label. It was brilliant! Not only do we have now my aunt´s drink when we come to visit her but we have the possibility of making it ourselves while we think of our aunt. I find that this is such a wonderful way of creating memories. I was very much moved when I received the bottle and read it. I have found here that some of you create memories that way like taking always the same thing for a Thanksgiving party. Do you do something like this? Do you have a special dish or drink that your family associates with you?

Nice to make memories. I do have a couple of dishes I make that the kids enjoy.

This is a lovely idea. I often take some chocolate slice when we visit someone. Everyone seems to like it.

We always have chili and also homemade noodles for Christmas. Need to teach the kids to make them for us instead. That was a wonderful surprise to get the recipe

It is important to pass on special recipes to the next generation.

Raising my daughter pretty much alone, I cooked a lot of her favorite pasta and she still loves my mashed potatoes.

There are many dished that we associate with our loved ones! Every time I make some Peruvian dishes, I remember my maternal grandma.

What a wonderful way to share your aunt's recipe. I have a cheesecake that I used to make quite often.

I prepared chocolate truffles to offer during the holidays. Home made were so much better than those you can buy boxed that all seem to have the same taste. I made the truffles, placed in small boxes and printed a label with the Christmas wishes and the name of the person.
