A 4 star general says he believes the US will be at war with China in two years, due to conflict over the strait of Taiwan. Groovy that is all we need! I just hope he is wrong. That would be a horror. All I can say is the US better play nice with China. Have you heard this before?

I saw it too and I wonder what his superiors will have to say to the general. I think that was an opinion he should discuss with his peers instead of letting it get out.

I've been hearing predictions like this for decades. The US and China have too much invested in each other to risk going to war. And, considering the entire island of Taiwan is a fortress and the people there would fight for every inch, taking it militarily would cost China more than I think it could afford, especially with India on its southwestern flank just waiting for an opportunity to see China weakened.

I have read this yesterday, but I have heard the same for local military in the past. I hope this is not going to happen. I also hope that NATO will not enter directly into the Russian/Ukraine war, it's bad enough as it is now.

I don't think there is much appetite for war with China personally. I think NATO would only get into the Ukraine war, if a NATO country is attacked. I think Putin knows better.
