2 February - What I'm Thankful for Today

Happy Groundhog Day! Did the groundhog see his shadow? He did here and we're having six more weeks of winter. I wish that meant winter would be six weeks longer than usual as there are six weeks left until spring arrives on the calendar, not necessarily in reality.
So, what am I thankful for today?
I'm thankful I went to the pool this morning. I had a wonderful workout in the pool and hot tub. Those hot jets felt great against my back.
I'm thankful for the workout I got getting my steps in the hallway this morning. I did manage to get my steps. It wasn't easy.
I'm thankful I worked on Where Eagles Soar and Destination Love. Both are coming along well. I'll be publishing these two this year.
I'm thankful for Canasta. We had a lot of fun. Two tables, one with three, one with four. I was with a table of four, so I had a partner. As usual, our team lost. It was fun though.
I'm thankful I went shopping after the pool this morning. I almost couldn't buy my groceries. My insurance card didn't work, not that it didn't have funds on it, it did. I had just used it for a couple of items at Walgreens. So, I knew it worked. I tried my PayPal debit card. I don't know the pin, so it didn't go through either. Then I tried my FoodShare card. I didn't think the funds were on it yet. It worked and I came home with food enough to last most of the month. I'll only need a few things like fruit and nut milk. I like cashew and almond milk.
I'm thankful I found my weight a lot lower than yesterday when I stepped on the scale at the YWCA. 204 on the nose. Not 209 as my scale showed yesterday. I think I need a new scale. Or just use the one at the Y.
I'm thankful for Ibuprofen. I really needed it after Canasta today. I'm not supposed to bend or twist my back. But how am I to get dressed if I don't? So, my back was in a lot of pain this afternoon. It's also getting painful sitting here. So even though I still have way too many notifications. I'm going to call it quits for the night and put my massage pad to use. I'm not going anywhere tomorrow, so hopefully, I can get the notifications cleared out.
What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. You can see what's left of my snowman.

She wasn't online, but you dont have to give it at a register either. I always bypass it.

@LadyDuck, I was at the grocery store. There is no pin for the insurance card to use for grocery items. They didn't know why it wouldn't take the card. It's usually just a scan of the barcode and everything is taken care of. That didn't happen yesterday. No matter what they tried, the card wouldn't scan.

@snowy22315 When I use my debit card for purchases, I need to use my pin number, but no one sees it when I enter it.

You don't have to enter a pin with the PP debit card. You can just use it like as you would a credit card. It has that option. I almost always use mine that way. Glad you were able to get your groceries anyway. I hate when there is a problem at the register for whatever reason.

@just4him I had an issue with a card last week, not wanting to slide through. This one had no chip so sliding was the only way, and the machine kept rejecting it, I was frustrated with that...finally after sliding it a different way it went through.

@celticeagle I don't mind being outside except when there are severe wind chills.

Get very creative. But, then again. Just take your time getting dressed and undressed where your back is concerned.
I'm thankful for the overcast sky. The wind and sunlight. We had a good day for going out. I'm crossing my fingers it doesn't rain.

Oh no, winter doesn't need to be 6 weeks longer! lol. But yes, it doesn't really matter if he sees it or not since it technically is 6 weeks til spring anyways!
Sounds like it was a busy day, but a good one...so that is always nice. Sorry about the pain...but good point it is hard to get dressed if you don't bend and all that.

I asked the therapist how to get dressed without bending and twisting. She gave me some tips.
