Saw An Eagle

One of the places we went to on our Paducah trip was to Grand Rivers, Kentucky which is about a half an hour from Paducah, and a very interesting and quaint little town—sort of a resort area with a marina and cabins and I think there was some camping there too.
We were there to eat at Patti's 1880's Settlement—I have been there once before but the wife had never been—and we had about an hour to kill, so we just tooled around a bit, settling on going down to the marina and by the water.
Down a stony path we encountered an eagle sitting high up in a tree. He was kind of hard to see, but nonetheless majestic as eagles generally always are.
I tried to get a good picture of him, but was not really all that successful. But you can still see him.
I kept telling the wife I wish he'd have come down from that tree so we could see him better. But he seemed quite content perched up there, just resting and surveying.
It's not every day you see one, so it was something neat.

I agree with your wife that it was better that it stayed far from you

@porwest I doubt that they are friendly
. They are wild and they like meat.

Yesterday was see an eagle day! Grand Rivers is LBL territory. That’s a pretty drive, through the Land Between the Lakes.

I am going to feel like a complete tool when you tell me, but I am drawing a complete blank on what LBL could be, and I know for sure it is not "light bladder leakage." lol
But yes, very pretty area. I'd like to see it in the spring and summer.

An eagle pooped on my husband when we were on the west coast. That's supposed to be good luck?

@porwest For sure. Eagles are cool though. Glad you got to see one.

Holy smokes. Considering how big those eagles are, that must have been a massive dumping. Like someone poured a bucket over his head. I am not sure I would call that good luck. I'd call that being in the wrong place at the wrong time. lol

That is so cool. I love whenever I encounter eagles in the wild, which unfortunately is not that often. But they are such majestic birds that you can’t help but be in awe of them when you see them.

@porwest - So cool that you saw an eagle. We have them in California, but I have never seen them personally, except on a trip to Alaska.
