Not going shopping again!

I'm not going down town shopping today because I've got another stinking cold! WHY? It's only about 2 weeks since I had the last one! My Mum is going to go to the little Tesco some time today instead. Last night the DVD on my TV conked out completely! It has been playing up for a while, making horrible clanking noises and not pushing out the DVD very far when I ejected it. I had to get a pair of scissors to gently pull out the DVD because I couldn't pull it out with my fingers! Well last night I watched an episode of one drama and then after that I tried to watch some Doctor Who extras on another disc. The disc wouldn't even go in. It felt like there was something blocking it. So that's it. The DVD on my TV has bitten the dust. Instead I got out one of my portable DVD players. I got them because they are region free which means if I get a DVD that is of any region other than region 2 which is the region that we have in the UK, I can watch them on my portable DVD player. So I watched the Doctor Who extras on that instead. I watched the Doctor Who world tour, which was to promote the new Doctor, Peter Capaldi, and I was going to watch some trailers. I managed to watch one trailer, and then the battery went! So that is now charging, and I will finish the trailers tonight and then watch the next episode after that. I hope you are all well (unlike me!) Have a nice day.

Do you still wear a mask when you go out in public? You might think about doing that... the cold virus, just like the flu, is airborne. Wearing a mask anytime you're out in public might keep you from catching them. You just have to remember to wash your hands as soon as you get home, too, to keep from getting the cold and flu germs that way, too. I hope you feel better quickly.

Sorry you are poorly again. And sorry about the DVD player. Glad you had a backup! I didn't even know that you could get region-free players!

Thank you very much. You are very kind. I'm thinking of getting a new TV with DVD player but until then the portable DVD player will surfice. It is currently charging. Ah, yes. Region free DVD players are a thing!

All DVD players sold here are region free, that is a good feature. I am sorry you are not well. I still wear the mask when I go shopping, this protects also against common cold.

@LadyDuck Yes, I know what you mean. I just wish I hadn't got another cold about two weeks after the last one!

I'm sorry to hear about your cold. I hope this one goes away soon. That's a shame about your DVD player. Can you get it repaired or will you have to get a new one sometime?

Thank you very much. I think I'll have to get a new one. It'd be simpler than getting it fixed.

@sharonelton That seems to be the way these days. Just buy a new one. It is usually cheaper than trying to get it repaired.

@JudyEv Yes, and besides that I don't even know if it can be fixed. At the moment I'm managing with my portable DVD player.

They say things come in threes don't they? 1) My cold 2) The doorbell isn't working 3) My DVD player gave up the ghost! I'm glad I had a backup too. Thank you very much, I will and I'll try!

Your immune system is weak. Have you drunk a lot of water and also juices?

@sharonelton That's better. I don't have an immunity drink. Did you prepare it or buy it?

Yes, I do do that. I've also got some "immunity drink" and I do think I would be feeling even worse if I didn't have that.
