nearly cause a house burn

Philippines
February 18, 2023 4:59am CST
While mom was making breakfast, she had to take a leak and then took a phone call and forgot all about it. She was cooking sweet potatoes in the frying pan, she should have boiled it to somewhere else bigger. sadly, the water evaporated and smoke was all over. My aunt saw it and removed the smoke with all the fans. Anyways, I have watch every one elses cooking from now on, including my own. I usually burn out some rice, but not often. Have a nice day

It happens while cooking I am glad that nothing went wrong there. You should take care of her and yourself.

Oh thank goodness your aunt caught it. My mom almost always does this. It's no wonder that we replace our pots often than we should.

Getting a smoke alarm might be a good idea.

Yes that happens from time to time. That's why I always set an alarm clock when I cook rice. We don't use rice cooker at home.

I remember the stink from when my mother let the potatoes boil dry. Not pleasant.

Hope the sweet potatoes were OK? (What a waste if they got burnt ... I will cry over that for sure! I often burnt the fried onions because of the cats - they distract me often.)

Mine yesterday cause a small explosion in the pantry where I stayed. That's scary indeed.
