Poor Nico got a rude wake up this morning

So, anyway Nico wanted to be fed early this morning as per usual. It was still dark in the room, and when I got out of bed I tromped on his tail...Yikes, he didn't know whether to scream, attack or run away. He sort of did a combination of all 3. Luckily, he didn't seem too much worse for wear a few minutes later. If somebody stepped on my hand, I think I would react similarily... Did you ever accidentally step on your pet?

Poor Nico, he surely had a rude wake up. I stepped on the tail of Gevi a few weeks ago, I realized almost immediately and he was almost not hurt, but he meowed and run away.

Yes, Nico was probably more startled than actually hurt, but I know he felt it.

@LadyDuck They like to over react to everything. Although my last cat was calm Nick is high strung.

@snowy22315 I think that my cut was not really hurt, but cats are comedians.

Yeah, I noticed he kept his distance for awhile after that, even though I apologized profusely.

Poor Nico. Yep, I've done that a couple times with past kitties and one got my ankle really good.

You were lucky. It was summer when I stepped on Prissys tail and she really socked it to me, poor thing.

I've done this from time to time. And I'd had a somewhat similar response when a horse would tread on my foot - except it was a bit hard to run away.

I stepped on Petey's tail a couple of weeks ago. He yelled blue murder at me and pulled his tail out from under my foot and sat down a couple of feet from me and waved his tail at me in annoyance. He is a bit more careful where he leaves his tail when he sits on the floor. My biggest problem is when I get home and up to my apartment is the kitty entourage that follows me to the bathroom and then goes between my legs as I am attempting to lower my jeans in a hurry so I can pee. I've peed on a cat more than once! What fascinates me is that Petey will drink from the toilet, and I have never peed on him. He always manages to get out of the toilet before I sit. As for accidentally stepping on my pets, that's a given. I don't know how I have managed to keep from stepping on them more than a couple of times. They all have been good about it and haven't sought revenge by attacking me in return, but I always find them and apologized for stepping on them, and also giving them a few extra kitty treats.
