Whistling an Old Song

I whistle a lot and I whistle pretty well, but it was annoying to somepeople I worked with in offices. Now I'm retired. I catch myself starting to whistle the minute I walk out the door to do any chores or just go the garage.
For weeks now, my absentmindedness has come up with is "Lilling Me Softly with His Song," one she recorded many years ago. She has been in my thoughts, because now, at age 85, she has ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), cannot sing at all and can barely speak. It is a terrible disease, with no cure & death must be a relief.
She had a lot of hits and such a great voice. I play her music often.
Here's a link if you don't know the song.

It really is. Linda Ronstadt lost her ability to sing too.

Sad to hear this. I suppose we all have to go one day - some just fade away but some go through trying days
I know this song. I do not whistle but do try to sing it.
Hope it will not be ear worm for you and I do not know if whistling does that too

I hate it that she has that. I hope she’s comfortable, at least.

It really is, it happened to Linda Ronstadt too, not ALS, but lost voice.

I didn’t know that she had ALS. She could sing beautifully.

Years ago when I was younger there would often be somebody whistling on most days. You would here them walking down the road whistling, working and whistling in fact everywhere you went there would be whistlers. A few years ago somebody pointed out that nobody seems to whistle anymore and it is because people are not as happy as they used to be.
