hand injury update

It's been a week since my hand injury. The stitches were removed yesterday. The nurse allowed me to do the cutting so I could control the pain. Except for the tingling and burning sensation in my index finger, it's healing well but I still need to cover the wound cause it's not totally closed. It hurts if I move too much, which is why I haven't been here. It hurts to type and I couldn't sleep well last week because of the discomfort. I still can't even make a full fist. My brothers are still amused by the fact that I spent more money on the hospital bill than on the cabinet.

Anyway, new month... Happy March! I hope you had a good start. We won't have any birthdays or any other large gatherings this month or the next so the next couple of weeks should hopefully be relaxing, nice, and rainy. Are you looking forward to anything special this month? Photo is mine. It's rambutan season, my favorite.

Oh sorry you hurt your hand. What are the things in the pan? Is that how you hurt your hand?

Oh those are rambutans, it's a tropical fruit. Totally unrelated.

But I guess it made me feel better cause it's my favorite, though peeling them was almost impossible with my injured hand.

The spikes are not sharp, easy to peel, and I think the name means hair or messy hair in another language. It's related to lychee and longan and some would also compare the taste to grapes. It's mostly sweet and juicy but there are sour ones too that are not salable.

@MGjhaud Wow! They look spikey so I wondered if they were capable of doing damage. I don't think I have ever heard of that or seen that before. What does it taste like?

Do not move your hand too much and keep it covered to avoid infection. I hope in a few days you will be fully fine.

That's good that your injury is healing up. Today is my elder brother's birthday and we are celebrating a festival of colours here (HOLI). It's one of the biggest festivals celebrated in India.

I'm glad your hand is healing. I have no idea what rambutan is or if what is in the bowl is a flower or edible.

Thanks. Those are fruits in the bowl called rambutan. It's very similar to lychee. It's a tropical tree, only grows in warm regions.

I don’t have anything to look forward to this month no. My husband is excited about the food that will be for Saint Patrick’s day. I don’t recall how you hurt your hand I’ll have to scroll back to another post.

A hand injury always takes too long to heal and always feels like we're bumping the damaged part into everything. Rambutan are okay but aren't my favorite fruit. I hope you're enjoying them.

I ate most of the rambutan. I'm trying a cold compress on my hand to avoid taking pain medication.
