Catching up today with a second cousin

We’re going to morning tea later with a second cousin (I’ll call her Sue) that I haven’t seen since I was a child. My mother used to do china painting and she gave Sue’s mother a cup and saucer. Now, Sue is downsizing big time and wondered if I’d like the items rather than have her children ship them off to an op shop (thrift store) when she passes. I’m keen to see them.
And Vince had an uh duh moment yesterday. He has been doing a bit more printing than usual from the computer and the paper ran out. His comment was ‘It only runs out when I’m using it’. Well, fancy that!!
The photo is of some of Mum’s china painting. I might post about the cup and saucer later when we’ve picked it up.

Yeah, using the printer is the #1 cause of ink and paper running out.
That is simply gorgeous work on the china.

I've noticed that about printers too. What a pain!
It will be interesting to see your cousin as an adult and to maybe bring home some of those
nice pieces of china your mom painted.

@FayeHazel I bought a little china-painted vase once that had someone's name on the bottom. It was probably done by someone just like my Mum but had ended up in an op shop.

@JudyEv I'll look for the photo - but yes I agree. I love thrift stores, but sometimes it makes me wonder who's loved items these are and how they got in the thrift store... :/

The ink only runs out when I'm using the printer too. That's a lovely piece. It will be interesting to see what you've picked up; and it will be nice for you to see your cousin after so long. Have a good week.
