Would you ride in a driverless Tesla?

You know that I'm not a big fan of technology driving planes and cars and stuff.
This crash occurred near my house. The car rammed a parked firetruck on I-680 that was helping previous crash victims.
If I were in a car and someone was not actually driving the thing, I would ask to be let off in a safe location.
I am OK with driverless "trams" at airports.
How about you?

I would avoid driving inside a driverless car since I am not ready to trust my life to a robot driven auto.

@Deepizzaguy Ironically, I think Musk may have said things like that.

@TheHorse I have heard the horror stories on television that persons in that field are scared that a robot might became like Frankenstein and turn on the creator of the invention.

Umm. NO, I wouldn't.
To me, it's just not a good idea.

@MarieCoyle And of course, too much cell phone use leads to anxiety and depression issues in our young. But who cares?

@TheHorse
There are just too many 'what ifs' to consider a driverless anything. A truly dumb idea, and like you said, thinking of making money, not people's safety.

I'm still not sure about it, but as I don't drive it might be perfect for me... better than having to walk to a bus stop, go near where I wanted to go and then have to walk the rest of the way.

@TheHorse Probably, but I don't like dealing with strangers.

@BarBaraPrz They don't bother me that much. Especially if there's a "script"--a predictable sequence of events and things to say.

No, I don't think the world is ready for that. Maybe some day it will become the norm, but not now.

If I didn't have to rely on my wheelchair, and need help getting it in and out, then maybe. And, that's a big maybe. I'm not sure how I feel about things that drive themselves.

I'm not usually comfortable with another person driving me somewhere, let alone a machine on its own.

@TheHorse If I can't be the driver, I just don't go.

Nope, I am an anxiety sufferer who would rather deal with actual people than trust technology to get me from Point A to Point B.

Nope, I 'm too old for that. Our 19 year old grandson Nathan can't wait to "drive" one. Or ride in one?
Concerning Elon Musk: the man who performed the marriage of our granddaughter Kristin looked just like him. I still suspect it really was him.

Trams are one thing, driverless cars are another. I'm not a fan of Teslas with or without drivers.

@just4him Very true. Flying is odd for me. I like to be "in control," and prefer driving to being a passenger in a car. Flying in an airplane is like going to the dentist. You give up all control, but once I'm there, I just sit back and enjoy it. Yes, even the dentist!
