Waterfowl in the birdbath

It was interesting watching the waterfowl having a bath in the birdbath With its very long legs it could just about manage to dip the legs and a quick dip of the head but not the body. It seemed satisfied with this kind of a bath as it was seen dipping its head several times before leaving the bath. We have had peafowls visiting the birdbath but they came just to quench their thirst as huge birds like the peafowls cannot use our birdbath for bathing Do you have a birdbath or atleast do you keep water for them to quench their thirst?

We have a bird bath with moving water in the garden. I bought another one with a solar lightning. I also keep two bowls full of water for the cats.

Do you know what kind of bird that is in the photo I’m confused on which one it is. I don’t have a bird bath but I bought my mother in law one a year ago or so.

@allknowing I’ve been to a waterfowl museum and it was all different kinds of birds like ducks. Isn’t there specific kinds of waterfowl like mallard duck etc? My husbands asleep or I’d ask him. He’s probably talk my ear off for an hour about all the different ones and the ones he’s killed etc though so I think I’ll be glad he’s sleeping and asking you instead

@allknowing that is a similar name. I found this info when googling it now so maybe it’s just how things are called different in the US then other places

Yes, we have a birdbath to keep water for birds to quench their thirst in summer. I have seen lots of birds coming to it mostly crows and pigeons.

@allknowing we have an electric fountain but we seldom switch it on. We have 2-3 bowls kept on the terrace.
