Not a food item but a hair style that was in vogue during my young days. I had long hair then and I used to have this hair style. That is my photo that my husband clicked We were just married and he was click happy clicking away with his black and white Yashika D camera. Those days there were rolls in the camera and they had to be sent for developing. It is only now that we have the facility of digital cameras. I have a Sony DSC H 300 that clicks good photos. What was your hairstyle during your young days?

I had very long loose hair as it was in fashion in the late 60s until mid 70s. Sometimes I made a "French Twist", that needed so many hair clips because I had plenty of hair and very long hair.

I searched for French twist - lovely hairdo. Someone must have helped you with that French Twist

@allknowing No one helped me, I did my French twist myself. Now I cut my hair myself without the help of someone.

Great hairstyle. Mine was a boy's bob because my mom said I needed all the essential nutrients for my body's health. It was okay with me because I was a kid then, but when I grew older, I have my hair cut at shoulder-length so no one would mistake me for a man.

@allknowing I mean the nutrients will be directed to my body instead of my hair. So, I get healthier.

How could a bob's haircut provide you with all the nutrients?

I remembered my youth with your picture. I used that and a roll that Farah Diva used. I,too, had long hair. The roll did not last much more than Saturday night´s party

@allknowing I know. But then it took almost all my allowance to go to the beauty shop in the neighborhood. Still, I had to take away all the hairpins and have a pony tail before I went to school on Monday

@marguicha In one's young days this is normal. Every time we went to a salon it was expected that all the money spent would go down the drain by the time we went to sleep after the event, I have memories.

That's very much like one of my mom's photo with same hairstyle. You look so pretty there.. I had a thick long hair but it was too silky to stay in one hairstyle for too long . Now, I have a step cut till shoulders. And it's still thick but half of what it used to be.

Those days that was the style and hair sprpay was also very much used at salons when one went there to set their hair. If you used enough hairpins may be it stayed (lol) I never had thick hair but made best use of what was there and tried to look stylish (lol)

@allknowing Hairpins won't stay for too long. It's too silky. But yes, being thick it looks good even when don't done well. I guess silky hair are moody and have their own style

Just loose. In some ways photography was easier when you only had a few photos. Now we have hundreds I just can't get around to sorting them!

I remember seeing these hairstyles. I had too many thumbs to ever be able to make a decent French roll and my hair is very fine so I found it too difficult.
