My cats are convinced that they are in grave danger

My mother had a couple of helium balloons for me at my birthday dinner. She sent them back here with me when I left. My plan was to tie them on the door outside but she tied them in a way that I can't get the knot undone. Sooo I just left the gift bag on the table and the balloons are adding a nice, festive vibe to the dining area. At least that is *my* take on things.
My 3 cats, on the other hand, believe that these are weapons of mass destruction and they are in danger of being murdered any second now. I'm honestly surprised. Adso is a scaredy cat when it comes to other people visiting. He's always been like that but he doesn't care about vacuums, thunder, fireworks, etc. Charlie is afraid of the upright vacuum but otherwise he is chill. I've never known old man Striper to be afraid of anything but he is straight up staring them down.
They are so weird. Oh well. They will just have to get over it. I'm not getting rid of them.

They must be moving when the air blows and so surely your cats are justified in feeling the way they do.

Something new in their territory. Hopefully they will get used to them.
