The Story Behind Cal, the Warehouse Cat Part 3

Continued from parts 1 and 2 Butch's passing was sad for us all without a doubt. I really wish he could have made it, but life sometimes just is what it is and you have to accept that. But the seed was planted. Having a warehouse cat seemed like a cool idea. So, where does one just find a cat? Not sure how it came to be, but it happened that my boss' sister knew someone on a nearby farm who had free kittens for offer. And so, I think she wound up picking one (because I don't recall any of us being part of that process) and brought it to us. Nonetheless, it was a very cute kitten. Orange and white and so tiny. Her name was Debra. Debra? Of course, Debra spent most her first days with us mostly hiding and being shy. Isn't that what all kittens kind of do until they get used to their new environment? But we didn't like the name. Debra seemed like a silly name for a cat. So, not sure how we came up with the name now that I think about it. But we liked Callie better, and so Debra became Callie. Callie did finally come around and it turns out she was a very friendly, spirited and loving kitten. She was full of life and full of energy. A really cool cat. We knew very early on that she would be a perfect addition to the crew at work. ...to be continued.
