Epic Fail for Kitty this Afternoon!

Poor Kitty. I am sitting here laughing at her in my head, and she doesn't even know it.
After a passionate petting session, as I was sitting at my desk, she decided to "take over" said desk, like a Purring Putin.
She jumped up on my leg and tried to grab my desk, for the next stage of her climb.
Unfortunately, her sharp claws did not grab porous pine, as she had intended. It grabbed...my pack of cigarettes, which flipped into the air, along with my green lighter and my phone.
Kitty tumbled backwards and rolled like wrestler, landing on her feet (as cats do) only after cacophonous contortions on my carpet, with my cigarette pack, lighter and phone flying and clattering all about.
I held back outward laughter as she slithered off toward her food dish.
She has her pride back now, and I will pick her up an put her on my desk if she wants (if I keep on typing).
Have you ever had to help a family feline save face after an epic fail?
Wait. Why are my paintings melting? Why are my body parts separating? What's going on? Where's my delete button? Where's Kitty? Kitty!

Do not mock the Kitty. She will slit your throat with those sharp claws.

@TheHorse — you laughed at her in your head. Don’t think for a second that she doesn’t know.

@DaddyEvil Cats have short memories. I picked her up and put her on my desk. She explored briefly, declared it OK, jumped down, and is now guarding me.

They do get embarrassed when their jumps don't go as planned and they find themselves crashing to the floor or something..Poor kitty..

I had only one cat and she was as neurotic as possible. The Ex took custody and I was not sorry to see either of them go.

I wonder how hard kitty would laugh if you were to slip and fall.

Well, maybe she just wanted to stop you from smoking and talking on the phone... yeah, that's it, stop smoking...

@wolfgirl569 She sensed that I was ready for bed and came in for a purr fest. Am I being manipulated?

We like watching cat videos on YouTube even though we are dog people. We especially enjoy the ones in which cats knock things off shelves.

@LindaOHio They do. I think it reassures them that we truly love them.
