Not Bad Grocery Day

I got in and back pretty easy. The only problem was that Walmart had one cashier. Nothing unusual there. They did open a second one after I got in line. So it didn't take a lot of time.
It was warm today at about 60 F. But it lightly rained all morning. This afternoon did dry out about the time I got home. But everything is so wet that water is standing everywhere.
I did hang another covering over the window closest to me. It seems to have cut back on the draft some more that I feel. I will keep adding until I finally have this house feeling warm. I guess I just need to decide what color I want covering the walls. I have until next fall to work that out.
Hope you had a good day

@wolfgirl569 I am sure this is the case, stores are profiting of the situation.

According to what I have been reading, food is costing more all over the world.
The only way for me to do this is to think ahead, and to cook from scratch, which I do anyway. I use up leftovers, we eat them as is, or we repurpose them into something else. We take advantage of loss leader items, and if there is a good sale on something we eat often that will keep well, we buy it if possible and it's there when we need it. Shopping has never been a favorite pastime of mine. But now I have to do what I call ''shop hard'' to get what we need at a price I feel comfortable with. Some countries don't even have food to buy right now for the most part, and if they do, the people can't afford it.
I am also going to plant some more vegetables again this year in my tiny garden. Last year, most everything flourished, and we enjoyed the veggies very much.

Their profit is in the billions every year and they only have one cashier. Pay them better and they would have more help. I know profit is the reason to be in business, but some things have to be faced. Ugh.

They want bigger profits. One person watches 4 of the self checkout ones. So that is 4 registers for the price of one if they can get enough people using them.

@MarieCoyle All of them are greedy anymore. I worked at the one here and at that time it was decent too work for.
We don't even get a discount for doing it. That full price charge helps pay for the cashier

I feel like they are greedy. I never liked the way Walmart treats their employees. I have known a few that were treated terribly. I know some people like working there, I do know of some that moved on to another job as soon as they could.
I also detest self-checkouts. I don't get a paycheck from them, I'm not going to do their work.

The joy of shopping ends when one sees long lines at the cash counters but you were lucky toda6y.

Yesterday was fine for me. We’re supposed to have rain through tomorrow afternoon, so my paddle board and scuba gear are on standby.

The town I live in is so small that we have a regular Walmart, so not self checkout and I like that. We also have about 4 to 5 cashiers. The weather was nice and cloudy today.

@hillhjill Even just one thing I stand in line. It is doing away with jobs when you check yourself out

@wolfgirl569 most Walmarts have them now, if I have just a few things I'll do self checkout but if it's a cart load I'm going to cashier.

I had a good day ordering my blood pressure monitor and getting my doctor's appointment booked for next month.
