I should have gone with them.

This morning my partner went with a couple of friends to see the Dungeons and Dragons film. He had assumed that Little One would stay at home with me, but when she heard where they were going she wanted to go as well. So then I did get invited along, but decided I would be better off trying to get some jobs finished at home while I had some peace and quiet.
Well, Little One absolutely loved the film, so she had a great outing. And I did get some stuff done, though not as much as I should have.
But the real catch came this afternoon, when Little One insisted on telling me, in excruciating detail, the entire plot of the film. And I don’t mean a synopsis of the plot but exactly who was who and who did what when to whom, what they said, and even what they were wearing at the time!
She started at around 6 pm while we were doing some stuff together in the garden and we had to insist she stopped at 8:45 in order to go to bed. I’m glad she enjoyed it and impressed she can remember so much detail but honestly, it would have been better use of time if I’d just gone to the cinema with them, and then of course I could have appreciated the costumes, special effects and general cinematography as well – but I didn’t since I’m not at all into D&D so I wasn’t that interested!
At least I managed not to doze off as she was telling me all about it.
The picture is nothing at all to do with the film but just an ornament I spotted outside someone's door.

Sorry but this is pretty funny especially the bit about not dozing off in the middle of the telling. I've been there - right in the middle trying to keep my eyes open while being bored to tears. Not saying you were bored necessarily.

That ornament seems to be a sleeping dragon.

I can’t exactly figure out what that is in the photo a dragon or something?
I had to chuckle at your post. I can’t stay focused to listen that long my mind would have drifted after about a minute. That really is very impressive how week she remembered every detail of the movie that she could carry on that long. My daughter likes D&D I’ll have to ask if she is going to see it.

You must have felt as if you watched the film personally when your little one told you the plot of the film. She has a photographic memory !

I had a friend who used to do this and the more I hated a movie, the more she insisted to tell me all the details. I am sorry for you.
