Kansas outdoes itself

United States
April 5, 2023 9:12pm CST
Kansas just passed legislation to allow the forced inspection of the genitals of children from elementary school through college. This is an override of the Governor Kelly's veto of a transgender student athlete ban. As a result, transgender girls are now barred from participating in women’s sports from kindergarten through college. From elementary school to college, children must engage in school activities according to the gender assigned to them at birth. Students may be required to undergo genital examinations. The attack on trans youth is relentless lately--and so, so cruel--full stop

That's awful. I don't like that at all. Gender identity is nobody's business but the person it applies to.

I agree...this is most disgusting. Whoever is there up...needs to first strip make his or family strip ..upload all that ...set it viral with morphing...that would set things straight. Little kids....insane. Not that it is alright with adults.

It is everyone's business when someone else becomes disadvantaged as a result. I could identify as poor and collect welfare, taking money from the pool of those who really need it. You and I could be competing for a job and if I put a dress on, maybe you lose out if they need a woman to fill the position and choose me. Senior communities could be filled with people who identify as old even if they are young. Slippery slopes, folks. Slippery slopes. If I want to identify as anything I want, what right do you have to single me out just because I identify as something you actually believe isn't true? Why does only one group have a right to their fantasy? Where do we draw the line and who gets to decide what's real and what's not?

@porwest I disagree with this. If the welfare is claimed by transgenders, that is when the concerned doctor needs to inspect and certify. Why kids? Why out there in open? Rather a child's birth certificate should indicate this, if it is evident. Why cause mental trauma?

I think that may violate “self-incrimination” laws….

My heart goes out to those kiddos who would be hurt with such things and the values they will carry forward.

@LadyDuck I hope those who pass such laws have transgender kids. Then they will realize.

That is so sick! I am disgusted with the violations of privacy so many very RED states are passing. I'm so glad to live in Oregon, a very Blue state.

@vandana7 Blue states are Democrat majority states, like California and Oregon, red states are Republican majority like Florida.

I would not allow my son or daughter to undergo that, if they had to go somewhere else to compete in sports so be it.

As a mother, I would want some say-so regarding the inspections, and as a woman, I say the attack on biological girls and women in sports is even more relentless, and crueler that that claimed is shown toward boys and men who have transgendered. None of these laws is passed to be bigotted toward boys and men who have transgendered. They are passed to protect the biological girls and women whose rights to participate in and complete fairly in equitable sports are the actual rights being violated.

I think the attack on women and girls in this country is very real--this is one form of it--though the attack on transgender youth is what this bill is about in particular I think--

@divalounger There surely can't be any disagreement about my sentiment. A nation doesn't have all these school shootings and doorstep murders etc etc if something is not messed up I saw someone say that victims were acceptable collateral damage in order to preserve the freedoms you have.
