A Visit From a Friend after 30+ years

In March, I wrote about my old co-worker who wanted to be pilot so much and ended up flying 747s for the last 30 years.
When I got up Sunday morning, I had a message on FB that he wanted me to call him since he didn't have my number. I did and he was in southern Oregon & would be driving through my town of Eugene on his way to Portland.
I gave him our address and he knocked on the door about 6:30. I had ordered a pizza for dinner, but he had dinner plans an hour north in Salem. We had a great visit for an hour or so, he had a glass of water, I had wine & pizza.
He changed so much from that quiet 21-year-old tech guy that I knew years ago. He doesn't have to fly until June now, but takes calls to fly if needed and is paid handsomely.
It was great to see him again. He keeps up with many people from the past.

He was having dinner with someone an hour north of here, so couldn't drink & drive. As a pilot he probably has to restrict his drinking anyway.

Yes, it would have been great, but thankfully, we have tons of air miles to use.
