The Horse suffers a painful but non-life-threatening injury.

I wish I had a better back story to go with this injury--maybe rescuing a teenager from the jaws of a mountain lion or something.
In reality, I was rolling up my window after a brief grocery shopping trip to Trader Joe's. We have had a rash of catalytic converter thefts here recently, and I didn't want to just invite someone in to my hood release and my engine.
The knob on the manual window roll-up came off, and I bashed the back of my left hand into something hard.
I waited for the pain to come, and then looked at my hand, to see if there was any gushing blood. The pain came and subsided, and there was no gushing blood.
I locked my truck and brought my groceries inside.
I can feel the swelling when I flex my left index finger, but I don't think it will debilitate me in any way.
Do you ever get ridiculous injuries that hurt like hell but are really of no consequence?
Did you ever bash your shin while running up carpet-less stairs in stocking feet?
Can you think of a better back story to the bruise on the back of your left hand?

@jstory07 Kitty jumped up in bed with me when I lay down for a few minutes, trying to decide what to do next. I think she knows somehow that I bought her some wet food today and is lobbying for it now. But The Horse will not relent!

That is bad, those silly accident can cause bad injuries. I scratched the back of my hand last Saturday while stripping my bed sheets and placing the cleaned ones. We wanted our walls not smooth because they look prettier, but it's easy to get scratched.

@wolfgirl569 Interesting. Should we do a survey? Wait. Surveys are not allowed on MyLot.

Let's see. You heard a woman, no, make that a kid, screaming in a car that was slowly rolling through the parking lot towards the interstate. You ran towards it, smashing your hand on the door as you grabbed the handle, pushing the brake, mere inches before drifting into 90mph, make that 120mph traffic. I know how crazy you California drivers are.
How's that?

@TheHorse It could have happened. But I believe after you rescued the kid that the robbers stole the car, led the cops on a high speed chase, crashed into an abandoned Burger King, and were arrested with mustard and pickles plastered across their cowardly mugs.

@TheHorse Okay, when the robbers took off with their stolen car, you had just given the uninjured child to his mother who tried to hug you numerous times while crying great tears of joy. You tore yourself away, jumped in your truck, chased down the bad guys (even passing the cops) as you heroically cut off the stolen car, sending them crashing into that abandoned Burger King. You jumped out, using your belt to restrain them as you waited for the news van to arrive for that on air interview.
Is that heroic enough? Feel free to edit and let's not let let pesky facts interfere.

@1creekgirl But doesn't that take attention away from my heroics? Clearly I have to do some editing.

I have bashed the backs of both hands against hard surfaces and that has always hurt a lot. I had banging my shin and my knees. My latest pain is concerned with my loving cats. They are both very muscular and whenever one of them suddenly steps in front of me while I am walking I walk right into their sides. It is like walking straight into a low brick wall and suddenly the pain shoots up my leg because I have a painful right knee. Then I remember all the bad words in my dictionary and stand still for a moment to get back to normal,

Poor Horse. I'm sorry you hurt yourself. I'm always bashing my arms or legs into things and then wondering where the bruises came from.
