Every person tells lies several times in his lifetime

Whether these are white lies or dark lies, every person lied or will tell a lie several times in his lifetime.
Can anyone honestly claim that he/she has never lied?
When a priest lied to the Nazis that there were no French resistance fighters inside his chambers, he lied, because there were even three of them.
When a mother tells her little kid that his illness was not serious, so as not to alarm him, she lies.
Many people tell lies to protect the ones they love, Can we eschew them and consider them liars?
Tell me, if you have NEVER lied and I will applaud you to high heavens.
What's your take on this?

For me telling lies would be the last resort and that too if they are harmless.

A lie that's told to save or cure someone is more a medicine than a lie. You can't call such a person liar.

A woman asks her husband if she looks fat in the dress she is wearing. It is obvious that she does look fat, but what would be his most likely answer?
Of course the husband who does not mind being subject to the silent treatment for a couple of days might speak truthfully.

Yes, although lying is a bad trait there are circumstances where a white lie can be a good thing.
Here's something to think about: You are never more truthful when you acknowledge that you lied...

It is impossible to never lie during one's lifetime even if we made all the effort not to. Even if we keep the best intention to be truthful we would still catch ourselves lying.
The only arguable point here is not everyone lies frequently.

Everyone has lied and perhaps not even consciously, omitting details that are relevant is a form of lying. In fact by them omitting the fact they have failed to disclose relevant information before is lying in itself.

We have the benchmark that we should try to live up to:
"Instead, let your message be ‘Yes’ for ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ for ‘No."
from the Christian Bible, Mathew, chapter 5, verse 37.
Lies generally come forth from a mind disconnected from truth.
We need to let our words be true words, but speak them from love, and they will never hurt anyone.

@innertalks "The word is God" is a good reminder that each word in the Bible is a gem. That's why they say that we can no longer take back spoken words.
I agree with your analogy about truth and lies. Thank you for such an informative post.

@Jenaisle Yes, and I would mostly agree with that too.
I agree with Judaism, though, that tells us that words vibrate with meaning, and so the words themselves carry some power within them, whether spoken forcefully, or not, sacred texts, use their words powerfully, because the words themselves carry power within them too.
The Bible says that the word is God, and so we should carefully choose each word that we say, to be sure, it carries God, and his truth within it, not lies, and devilry instead.
