Do you often say this?

Do you say some good words to people who have rendered you good services? Today, I went to Donut King and ordered donuts for my grandkids. The staff had a smile on her face, was respectful, and offered some good recommendations. She got my order speedily, while there were other two customers waiting online. She was calm and efficient and very adept manually with all the tasks she did. So, I said: "Good and quick service. Thank you." Her face lighted up more and I could see, she was elated. We may never know it but a bit of appreciation or a pat on the back of someone who has done a good job could make his/her day. These busy and overworked store staffs need these at times. Have you ever shown appreciation or said a few words of encouragement or praise to people who rendered good service?

Both my husband and I always show our appreciation for a good service. Even the face of the cashier at the supermarket light up when she notices we are waiting in line.

I always appreciate when the gardener or the maid do something that needs a pat on their back

That is so nice of you to do that. I like to always do this whenever I encounter waiters or waitresses or any service staff for that matter. Also, if I see a really good service done by any customer service officers, I would give them a positive feedback for sure.

Oh, yes. If someone has done a good job, I praise them heavily. I just think about difficult it must be when you get an unappreciative customer, so when someone gives excellent service I want them to know I took note of their effort.

Right. I like it that all responders to this discussion said yes. That means we're a force to reckon with when it comes to encouraging someone at work.

I try to do this all the time. So many are doing the work of two people anyway, a word or two of positivity or encouragement might make their day a lot better.
