Guavas

We had 3 guava trees. One tree yielding tiny guavas that were red inside. There were so many that we just let them fall on the ground as even maids were tired of eating them. Then there was this faovurite all large size and white instead. Everyone liked this variety The third was seedless. They were good but we did not get many.
We used to not only eat them, I even made juice, halva and jelly with them. One of them - the best one died as the garlic vine killed it and the other two just vanished without reason.
We do not have guavas in our garden despite trying to get new ones and nor do we get the variety I want in stores I am missing guavas.
Guavas are loaded with vitamin C.
Do you get guavas where you live?

May be guavas do not grow in your area just as peaches do not grow here But I have bought peaches and enjoyed them.

@allknowing I think you are right, and guavas must just be grown in tropical areas.

@allknowing As they are extremely expensive I prefer to eat strawberries and bell peppers for the Vitamin C.

Usually the guava season is in summer here. But I seldom eat this as I am not very keen on this fruit. I did eat guava once when I travelled in Thailand. The guava in Thailand is a little different than here and they eat them with plum powder. I must say I love it

@allknowing Yes have seen a lot of destruction. The place where I live in now was once a saltpan and we would look out of the train to see the saltpans when passing by. Now there is very little land with salt pans and the rest is just buildings.

In the village where I lived when I was a kid, I and my playmates often got our stomachs full because of wild guavas. We would swim in the river, play at the riverbank, and when hungry, we would go/swim to the center of the river where the wild guavas grew abundantly. Those were the days. I miss them,
