Invaders in my country: boxelder bug.

Our world is very frail, friends.
Not only must we write down the best immigration policies (ones that let in working people but control the bad ones) but we have to be continuosly checking that bugs of every sort come into our country.
Decades ago, scientists discovered that plants that were used for healthy rasons centuries ago had cross the desert more that the others. The people who came from cultures with more knowledge brought here the ways to cure many ailments and planted those herbs in our soil.
Now, with tourism and lack of proper control, not only bad people come in but also bad bugs.
Boxelder bugs came from the US. We don´t have the tree they love but surely they will find another
Before that termites were brought here with some inexpensive wood. They are now here to stay.
And before that, somebody decided to raise beaver in the south of my country. The idea was not so good so he opened the cages and let them go. They are now the most invasive creatures and have destroyes a lot of the ancient southern forests.
I can fill a book with the animals from elsewhere. They live peacefully in their lands but are predrators here.
I have heard of people that have serpents as pets. GIMME A BREAK!!! The are wild and they are often deadly!
Now that the covid has subsided, it seems that we have to be indoors, closed windows, so that boxelder bugs don´t come in.

Although it seems that they are harmless for people, they can give you allergies.

@RebeccasFarm I think that we should help bugs go baack where they belong. I would not mind having a beaver coat and saving the forest at the same time.

Even beautiful pests are pests. We have here a beautiful bird that was brought from Argentina by some idiot. They are beautiful but all they do is shoo away native birds, procreate and leave their poo in my sidewalk.

@marguicha It is sad that people think it's good to move animals around. We have a beetle here that was brought in by the government to kill some other type of bug. But it kills ladybugs too. And they are good bugs to have here

Never heard about these bugs. What we have here are giant cockroaches that fly. Drive me buggers when I see one. However, my two cats have learned how to chase and catch these and I have mercifully not seen any in a long time,

@marguicha I do not blame you. Now if one does fly in and I see it I just leave that room to the cats and listen to the shuffling and banging and when it quiets down I return and I know that nasty but has been taken care of otherwise when I had not cats I was even afraid of hitting them and often sprayed nasty bug spray right on them

@TheHorse Probably not Alaska
They live where maples, ash trees and boxelder trees are. They have it in CAnada too, from what I just read. And it invaded us 3 years ago.

We have box elders here too. Beavers do a lot of good too. I watched a documentary about them a while back. They make ponds where there were none. Too much of a good thing can turn bad though. I am sorry you are having this issue.

We have iguanas that they are killing by the hundreds in Florida and giant pythons that are destroying the wildlife in the Everglades. There are constantly invasive species taking over every country. It's so sad.

Kill them. They serve no purpose, they just eat and poop. They don't pollinate anything, either. Plus they are invasive,,,bye bye to this bug if I see it.
