Do you recycle old furniture or stuff

I have 6 cabinet drawers right now from old cabinet that had termite damage. But the drawers are all okay. The cabinet frames were so badly damaged that almost nothing left to use and that was put into garbage.
I was searching about recycling or repurposing these. I looked at pinterest and YouTube. Nothing much really made me interested. Besides there's still some amount of work needed on some projects.
Do you still recycle old stuff or do you just throw it away

If I can't use it, I donate it to a thrift store. Sometimes they sell stuff and sometimes they trash it.

We don't have thrift store here for old items that are pretty useless for most people. These drawers are one of those considered not worth having even for free for most people

Recycling here isn't popular here and no one like getting old stuff as not many knows or interested in repurposing them.

@marguicha indeed it's helpful to environment and to us as well if recycling is widely practiced anywhere

I don’t really have a lot of things to recycle in the first place. I have a friend who used freecycle.org for awhile, and she also donated a lot to thrift stores. But she also kept WAY too much stuff she never found a purpose for. To her credit, her first instinct is to use it again or find someone who will.

I do if I find the furniture can be remodelled. But when the wood is damaged by the termites it's very difficult to use the wood of that furniture. Mostly I would ask the carpenter if the same can be used and something can be made out of it.

Those damaged can't be use anymore. Those left that are not damaged may not be safe to use anymore

@hotsummer If it's real wood I would burn in the fireplace.

I come from the small town, we also don't have much option for recycling. We either use it get damaged or desembled them to make another one by taking the good one, and lastly to use as firewood
