My Heart is Sick

Over the last two years, a type of avian flu has swept over much of the planet. It is killing poultry and sickening millions of farmed birds. This is one reason eggs are now so expensive. It is also killing wild bills. This is a real animal welfare crisis. Endangered species like the California condor or in the mix. It covers five continents now and many species. My nephew works at a poultry plant and said they’ve had to put a lot of chickens down because of the flu.

How awful. Flu is so awful for humans. But it doesn't kill us. Poor birds.

We have the same problem here, some swans have been found sick. They had to kill millions of hens and this is why eggs are expensive now.
