Sister had quite the time getting to my house yesterday but yes she did get here! There was mud on the train tracks so she ended up riding the bus all the way to me. All the way up the coast of Washington state.
Sister is an Energizer Bunny. I am not. She is really whipping all the corners of this place into shape. Wow on all the past due laundry that is no longer past due. We went to a thrift store and a plant nursery. I have been wanting a bird bath but oh the horrenous prices even for the not so nice plastic bird baths. I found the glass bowl that is in my photo in the thrift store. Spendy for second hand and cheap for a bird bath. Sister helped me get dirt into the tub and helped me plant it.
So far we are all three- hubby and we two sisters- getting along pretty well. We had an early Mothers Day lunch today, sitting out at a restaurant's outdoor patio, listening to the nearby train whistle and bang as it moved along.
Tomorrow morning we go to the pool, then probably shop for a little food and then I want to set up the table and have lunch out in the back yard. For the next ten days my world will be sunshine and summer heat. Total summer heat. Not joking. I would rather set up a nice luncheon table than engage in mowing the lawn!!

I'm glad your sister arrived safely and everything seems to be going well at your house. I like the way your tub planter looks. What flowers did you plant there?
I've had guests who started doing cleaning when they got bored of just talking. (She wouldn't stop cleaning my floors... I think she scrubbed the kitchen floor two times in the three days she stayed with us.
We mop the kitchen floor once a week.
The next time she invited herself to stay, I told her it was okay to come visit us any time but when she started cleaning, she could go home again. We aren't bad housekeepers but she made us feel like we were.)

@DaddyEvil I planted spotted petunias and a trailing don't know what flower that didn't show well. The petunia on the far right wasn't blooming yet. I think its going to bloom purple. I agree that it isn't very nice of company to clean. Its hard for me to tell company to just quit!!!

@sallypup I thought I was seeing petunias but wasn't willing to bet on it. I do like the birdbath.
I think some people just like to clean.

@DaddyEvil I like petunias cause they are tough and easy to grow. These are speckled and quite lovely.

I guess the important thing is that someone likes it.
