Jay and I Were Walking in the Woods

Jay, my husband, and I were walking through the woods. I always look down at
my footing, to make sure I don't step on a snake or trip over a branch.
I won't say that I'm fearful walking through the woods. Yet, I'm always leery of any possible danger we might cross paths with.
Michigan rattle snakes live closer to the river banks. While, harmless gardener or grass snakes are very plentiful in this area. Anything without legs, I'm not happy to encounter.
On our walk through the woods, I looked down and spotted some wild wintergreen leaves. I broke off a leaf and let Jay smell it. As kids, we used to chew on these leaves, to get a wonderful mint flavor!
Anyway, the weather here is nice, a bit sunny and about 60 degrees today. Have a great weekend!
Photo: I borrowed this photo from Pixabay. It's not us walking in the woods.

I believe in Georgia, there are many poisonous snakes. In Michigan, we have about three species that are dangerous.

I am also careful walking in the woods. I am scared of snakes even if they said that not all snakes are dangerous

I watch my footing all the time, too. I'm afraid of tripping and falling down.

@kobesbuddy People can be so rude!
I get dizzy for no apparent reason the doctors can find. If I turn too fast, which I can't remember not to do, I'll fall down if I don't have anything handy to grab. My doctor prescribed meds for it. (One of the side-effects of the medicine is dizziness.
Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't.)

@kobesbuddy Maybe, or else what the med was supposed to prevent was worse than the side-effects. That's why I take the medication for dizziness... If it helps, great! If it doesn't, then I'm no worse off than I was before taking it.

@DaddyEvil Vertigo is a problem for some people. It's terrible, a person gets dizzy for no apparent reason! I watched an add on television about a medication for a physical ailment. Two of the possible side affects, were a heart attack or a stroke! Who in their right mind would take that medication? They'd have to be crazy!

The property we looked at, it all had good/bad qualities. Huge old trees leaning over, ready to fall down. Lovely young maples, ready to grow 50 years into healthy trees! One lot had rotten logs almost totally blocking off a lovely stream. Those logs had to be removed, to restore the natural flow of water. The land we bought is amazing:)

When Kobe was alive, I used to take him for a little venture through the forest. He loved that!

@kobesbuddy I think dogs like running free through the woods.

We like being out in the wild, yet close enough to reach help.

From the time I was a little girl, my father taught me about what's poison, what is edible. He was very knowledgeable when it came to wild plants, berries, mushrooms and herbs.

The weather here is nice too. It's about 70 now. Snakes are scary and it is wise to keep an eye out.

At my other house, we didn't see very many snakes around. Where we are building a home, I'll find out pretty soon, if there are snakes living closeby.

Lucky you, I really miss the days of walking in the woods in Latvia. I was always so nice and peaceful and there were downed logs to sit on and brooks to listen too.
