Bee in the house

Not really sure how it got there but there was a big bee on one of the living room windows. I noticed it by accident after I came downstairs and went to look out the window to see if hubby left for work yet. It freaked me out. I just couldn’t get near it. Hubby wasn’t in the driveway so I called him and told him there’s a bee in the living room and asked him how far away he was from the house. He was still pretty close so he turned around and came home to get rid of it for me. He didn’t kill it. He somehow managed to grab it into a paper towel and released it outside. Not sure what I would’ve done had he not been close to the house and came back to take care of the bee. I definitely wouldn’t be able to do what he did. I’m afraid of them. Not even sure I’d be able to get near it to kill it. I hope no more bees fly into the house...

Your husband is very caring and merciful,I met a bee in the house several times, because of risk and fear,i beat and killed it with a cardboard.Although maybe the bee just play a while in house, once i think its sting is toxic and it may sting me,i can't tolerate it fly within my house.Once i opened the door and hope it fly to outside, but it refused fly out, then i have to kill it,

I do not like like or want any insects in my house. If they are here they have to go.

@jefferson126 I would think my dad had killed it and put it the garbage can. But not sure.

Pretty and I are both allergic to bee and wasp venom. If a bee was in or around our house, we kill it/them so we don't get stung. In the house, I'll use a flyswatter and kill it. Outside, we use bee/wasp spray and kill them. As long as they stay out of our yard/house, I don't care where they go or what they do. If we get stung, we could end up spending days in the hospital.

@lovebuglena I've been stung dozens of times and spent days in the hospital... Pretty has been stung a few times but refused to go to the hospital. I'm just glad I had an epi-pen to use on her.

Definitely don’t want to be anywhere near bees and wasps in this case. I don’t think I’m allergic but I don’t want to find out.

@RebeccasFarm after hubby left he told me something along the lines of time to grow up and not let the bee control me. I know I should be able to deal with the bee myself and not hide from it but I’m afraid of them. I run when they are near me. Sometimes I run screaming.

We had this happen a few times before. That was before we got a new balcony door. I remember once I called my mom all freaked out and my dad came to get rid of it. Now he’s not here to do that.

Bees are generally pretty friendly, and they will only sting you as a last resort (they die once they sting something). The key is to stay calm around bees and not to make too many sudden moves. I’m glad your husband didn’t kill the bee.

@lovebuglena If bees frighten you, I would encourage you to stay away from the bears.

@moffittjc I will definitely never decide to pay a bear a visit lol. Except maybe at the zoo where they are behind a fence.

When I see a bee I run lol. I cannot stay calm. I wonder how I would react if I saw a bear.

Flies inside of any house are not good for anyone to deal with.

I would rather deal with a fly than a bee. But I don't want any insects inside the house.

@Deepizzaguy I was taking a shower the other day and saw an ant crawling next to the hot water knob. And before that I was sitting on the toilet and there was an ant crawling up my leg.

I remember when I was 11 I got stung by a bee just when I was about to pee I had to pull up my pant right away and I run like sonic and cry for help. Now that I think of about it, it's funny.

It was sweet of him to come back and take care of it for you. A 2023 version of a man slaying the dragon for the woman he loves.

Thanks. I wonder if he would've done this had he been far from the house. He definitely wouldn't if he was already close to work. It wouldn't make sense.

I'm the same way with roaches. I just can't bring myself to touch them. Especially the big ones. I was helping make breakfast for George, turned my back to get something out of the fridge, and one was on his bread. I told him, and he got it.

A roach on the bread? Yuck. I am glad hubby came back home to deal with the bee and didn't tell me to do it myself.

Maybe you could have shut it in one room for the day. It's good your husband could return and help.

It was in the living room. No doors there. It can fly anywhere it wants from there.

We have bees, large flies and ants at the present time. I don't know where they're coming from. I'm glad hubby took care of the bee for you.

@lovebuglena In the house. We always seem to get ants and hornets at the same time each year. I don't know where the flies are coming from.
